MANAGER
The day to day running and operation of the Braemar Charitable Trust is managed by Trust Manager Paula Baker who reports to a Trust Board comprising Independent and Medical Trustees.
PAULA BAKER
Paula joined the Braemar Charitable Trust as a Trustee in 2014 and then as Trust
Manager in 2016 and is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Directors, has a
B.Agr Economics (Massey), an MBA (Distinction) from Waikato University and is currently completing a Diploma in Arts (Te ao Māori) to further develop her knowledge. With a background in resource management/ environmental policy, Paula has also held senior roles as a human resources practitioner in the electricity and not for profit sectors.
Previous governance roles include National Advisor-Governance and National Advisor - Volunteer Strategy for Plunket, Deputy Chair Hospice Waikato and NZ Dietitians Board, Chair of Hamilton Cricket and board member of disability service providers Enrich+, Community Living Trust and its IT social enterprise subsidiary, Platform Plus Ltd.
Paula currently sits on the Boards of Northern Districts Cricket Association, the Kerikeri Retirement Village, the Waihikurangi Trust, Alandale Retirement Village and Presbyterian Support Northern.
As Trustee of Sky City Hamilton Community Trust and member of the Waikato Community Lotteries distribution committee, Paula is an experienced funder and is highly networked in the Waikato philanthropic and community sectors.
Paula has an obvious passion and zeal for community development and working with
organisations to enable the building of sustainable and resilient communities
and supporting the health and wellbeing of families/whānau.
